Happy New Year!

Updated: Jul 24, 2019

This Christmas I was lucky enough to be able to show some of my work at Cotehele, a National Trust property here in Cornwall. It has been a good fit for my style as the property is a Medieval manor awash with tapestries, dark wood and suits of armour.

The house was begun in the 1300s though much of what is seen now is Tudor in date. Formal gardens run down to a little quay on the banks of the Tamar, which separates Cornwall from the rest of England, and there is extensive parkland and woods for walking.

Christmas is always special at Cotehele, not least due to the annual tradition of hanging a vast floral garland from the roof of the Great Hall. This year it was particularly special as it commemorated 100 years since the end of the First World War.

Cotehele is one of only two National Trust properties in Cornwall to have a dedicated art and craft gallery, and I was delighted to be included in the company of some very fine artists and craftspeople. Have a look at www.nationaltrust.org.uk/cotehele to find out more.
